Anthology News
All the Promises We Cannot Keep is the second anthology from Red Herrings Society authors! I cannot wait to be able to share a pre-order link - the ebook will be free again, as well!
In my short story titled “Promises, Promises” Victoria is preparing for her life to change - again. The day dawns for her journey to the Academy, and she can't help but remember the moment when she found out she had magic. When her mother promised nothing would change - a promise she failed to keep.
Thank you to everyone who has read, reviewed, and bought a copy of Baked & Brewed. I’ve surpassed over 130 sales, which is amazing. In September, I’m also doing an event at my local library! I truly appreciate all of the support!
Deals & Dalliances
Book 2 is well on it’s way! I finished writing it on July 31st, and it is sitting at a little over 69,000 words. A friend/fellow author is reading through it for me, as I am also self-editing. The plan is publish it around March 7th next year. I know that’s a bit far out - but I’m currently going up for promotion, teaching 9 classes, car hunting, and doing all the normal stuff too. I had to give myself grace, and time, to try and do this right!
Blurb and book cover will come out in my next newsletter, which will probably be September 14th instead of the 15th!
As a tease:
Life & Cats
As always, my life is chaos. The semester started August 19th, and has been in full swing. I have about 170 students, teaching 4 face to face classes, 4 online, and another starts in October. With all the other things I do, and going up for promotion, I’ve got a full plate. It’s also meant the past two weeks I’ve been so exhausted, I’ve barely done any writing/editing at all.
In cat news, IT WORKED! Toph has been great. The cat food worked miracles, and I still need to get a couple more cat trees, just because they love them. In bad news, one of cats (Willie) started scratching the corner of a wall when he wants someone to feed him (it’s by the pantry door), and since that room was wallpaper, Toph was caught peeling it off the wall trying to eat it. -sighs- They are lucky they are cute.
We also started feeding a stray that hangs around outside - we named him Zuko. Pretty sure he’s a half-sibling to our 2 inside cats - and he was fixed last year when we did TNR. He’s our friend - not our cat (if the neighbor asks).
Zuko laying in his favorite spot.
So what is happening in my author world now?
