What A Month!
Wow, what a month June has been! In this newsletter:
Award News
Baked & Brewed Updates (And Tea!)
Life & Cat Update
Writing Updates/Current projects
A look forward
(PS - I’m getting widely different results on the format of this newsletter from gmail to outlook - so I apologize, but you can view it on the website!)
Meet Me At Midnight won Best Anthology of the Year at UtopiaCon this year! I was blown away, and so honored to a part of this. Myself and 35 other authors who are members of the Red Herrings Society were accepted into this anthology with short stories surrounding the theme of Midnight.
Interested in reading my short story in it? - The ebook is free. My short story titled “A Witch With A Curfew” is about a young witch that can see and speak with ghosts. She’s decided to use this power to help solve murders. For more info on that, visit my website here. It is Adult fantasy, but with no spice. I have another short story written about her as well - would you like to read it? Reply back and let me know!
I’m officially an award winning author!
Thank you to everyone who has read, reviewed, and bought a copy of Baked & Brewed. I cannot truly believe that I am a published author of a novel, and one that I absolutely love. I mean, look at that cover!
Isn’t C.J. awesome?
If you were at UtopiaCon, then you might have attended the Romantasy panel, where my mentor C.J. Redwine surprised me by telling everyone about my book, and reading the back of it as well. That was my first con as an author, and it was amazing! I’ll apologize for not having any copies for sale (looking at you, Amazon), but I do have about 6 or 7 on hand, and plan to order more. Interested in ordering a signed copy? Fill out this form!
In other news, Baked & Brewed hit the Top 100 New Releases charts in it’s categories, which I still cannot believe. Thank you all! Now I just have to figure out how to keep marketing it!
Okay - SPOILERS Ahead! Nothing big, but it just concerns the spell that Willow & Winston work on. I created a tea as close as I could to it on BlendBee. You can reorder the same tea by saying you want to reorder and typing in Baked & Brewed! I may be doing a giveaway with this tea soon. It has a very floral taste, and I thought was pretty good.
Life has been crazy! I haven’t been writing as much as I hoped. Between publishing my first book, all the chaos that went into that, and also attending UtopiaCon, I’ve underestimated the amount of time I’d have, even off (mostly) for the summer. In good news, I’m doing a writing camp in July, and a local writing group I lead, so hopefully that will up my writing.
One of my cats - Toph - has also been causing me worry! He has FIC, or so the vet thinks. He was on meds that didn’t work, he got rediagnosed from a UTI to FIC, and more steroids. If worked, but quickly he was getting worse. So here we are doing steroids again and see if it works. If not, we might be looking at prescription food, so I’m a wee bit terrified. Had a similar situation? I’d love advice! Feel free to reply.
PS - he does not like the car or the vet - he looks so evil here, but I promise he is a sweetie!
So what is happening in my author world now?
Working on Baked & Brewed 2 (Interconnected Standalone)
Wrote a short story about Tess meeting Willow & Piper, titled “Chances & Changes” - if you signed up for this newsletter before it was in the welcome email, let me know and I’ll send it to you!
Working on a YA (maybe Adult) novel with magic, dragons, nobles, and secret plots!
So other than current projects, what’s next? I’m working on a few things I don’t want to share yet, but hope will be in my July newsletter!
I’m also going to do be doing some highlights/recs/swaps soon too!
August 1st, I’m doing an author event for my local library that I’m very excited and terrified about!
I also will be putting up a vote for the name of Book 2 (no promises here) - so be looking for that. Have an idea? It has to be D&D, as I have B&B and C&C (I’ll figure out A&A later…). Send me your suggestions!
